Exercise EW30: Stretching of chest and neck
Ideal exercise for long sitters, mobile-phone users and everyone with tense shoulders and necks – more intensive than you might expect but very rewarding!
Goal: Stretching and relaxation of shoulder, chest & neck
Parameters: Frequency: 14-18 Hz + Wobble 2 (if available) / Position: 4.5 / Duration: 2 minutes
Procedure:
Posture: Kneel in-front of Galileo, put your knees very wide, place palms at the front aged and the very outside of the Galileo on the plate. Buttock behind the knees but not touching the feet/floor. Chest towards the floor and at the same time a double chin (chin towards the chest but neck at the same time towards the ceiling) to allow stretching of the back of the neck. Neck pulls upwards while shoulders and chest pull downwards.
Movement: Every 5 to 10 seconds slightly relax/lift upper body then exhale through tight lips and push chest towards the floor.
Tip 1: In the lowest position, try to lift your outstretched arms and at the same time press your chest down (note: with correct tension hands cannot leave the plate but stretching is increased this way – “strength in stretching”).
